At Kids Tooth Doc, our number one emphasis is total preventive care for our patient’s teeth and mouth.  Total preventive care begins with regular hygiene visits, regular check ups and continued proper oral care at home.

We provide many preventive measures to keep your child’s teeth clean and healthy including sealants and fluoride treatments (more on those below). We educate your child in good oral health care at home and good decision making in choosing snacks and drinks.  We also educate parents in early detection of some common problems that affect children including thumb sucking, teeth grinding (bruxism) and baby bottle tooth decay.

What is fluoride?  Fluoride is a natural element that can help prevent tooth decay.  Fluoride may naturally be found in your drinking water or it may be added to your water supply.  Fluoride strengthens the minerals found in teeth helping to prevent the acid attacks that create tooth decay.

What are sealants? Sealants protect the grooved and pitted surfaces of the teeth, especially the chewing surfaces of back teeth where most cavities in children are found.  Made of clear or shaded plastic, sealants are applied to teeth to keep them cavity-free!
