Beware of the Sour Candies!

Sure, we are all aware that too much sugary candy is not good for your teeth, but recent studies have brought another dangerous candy ingredient into focus, ACID. Important information on sports drinks.........A study published in General Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry's clinical, peer-reviewed journal cites that sports drinks, along with energy drinks, non-cola soft drinks and commercial lemonade can damage dental enamel! Dental enamel is the thin, outer layer of hard tissue that helps maintain the tooth structure and shape, while protecting it from decay. The study revealed that long-term consumption of non-cola soft drinks and sports beverages can result in significant, irreversible damage to dental enamel, potentially resulting in severe tooth decay.
